Auto Repair & Body Shops

Local SEO for Auto Repair and Body Shops

When someone's check-engine light comes on or they just got rear-ended, they don't browse. They grab their phone, search "auto repair near me" or "collision shop near me," and call one of the first few shops they see on the map. Local SEO is the work that gets your shop into that short list and makes it look like the obvious call.

Collbridge only works with independent auto repair and body shops. We don't repurpose a dentist or roofing playbook. We know the difference between someone searching "brake repair" and someone searching "body shop that works with my insurance," and we build your local presence around both.

What Local SEO Actually Means for a Shop

Google decides who shows up in the map results based on three things: how relevant your shop is to the search, how close you are to the person searching, and how trusted your business looks online. You can't move your building, but you can control a lot of the rest.

Your Google Business Profile, set up right

Most shop profiles we look at are missing basics: the wrong primary category, missing services, old hours, no photos of the actual shop, or a dozen unanswered reviews. We clean all of it up: categories (e.g., Auto Repair Shop, Auto Body Shop, Brake Shop), service lists, attributes, hours including holidays, photos, and Q&A.

Consistent name, address and phone everywhere

Your shop is listed on dozens of sites you've probably never touched: Yelp, Apple Maps, Bing, Facebook, Carfax, RepairPal, Yellow Pages and data aggregators. When those listings disagree (old phone number, previous owner's name, wrong suite number), Google trusts all of them less. We audit and correct those citations.

Service pages people actually search for

A single "Services" page with a bulleted list doesn't rank for much. We build dedicated pages for the work that pays your bills: brakes, diagnostics, A/C, transmission, alignment, collision repair, paint, dent repair, and so on, written in plain English and marked up so Google and AI search tools understand them.

Reviews that keep coming in

Review count, recency and your replies all matter. Our system automatically asks customers for a Google review after a completed job, and we help you respond to reviews, good and bad, in a way that sounds like you.

Technical basics on your website

Fast mobile load times, click-to-call buttons, correct schema markup (LocalBusiness / AutoRepair), a clean sitemap, and pages Google can crawl. Nothing fancy, just done correctly.

How We Work

  1. Audit. We look at your Google profile, top competitors in your area, your citations, your website and your reviews, and show you the gaps in plain English.
  2. Fix the foundation. Profile cleanup, citation corrections, schema and service pages.
  3. Keep it moving. Ongoing Google posts, review requests, new content and monthly tweaks based on what's working.
  4. Report monthly. A short, plain-English report: what we did, what changed, and what's next.

What We Won't Promise

Nobody can honestly guarantee you the #1 spot on Google, and anyone who does is selling you something. Local results depend on your location, your competition and Google's own changes. What we can promise is that the work gets done correctly, consistently, and that you'll see exactly what was done every month.

Which Package Includes Local SEO?

Local SEO is included in our higher tiers, alongside the CRM, booking and missed-call text-back every package gets:

  • Ignition: CRM, automated booking and reminders, missed-call text-back.
  • Full Throttle: Adds Google review generation and local SEO.
  • Pit Crew: The full stack, including social media and paid ads on Google and Facebook.

All plans are month-to-month after a 90-day minimum. Local SEO and review generation typically take several weeks to build momentum, so the 90 days gives your shop a fair shot at seeing it work.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does local SEO take to work for an auto shop?

Profile fixes can be picked up by Google within days or weeks, but meaningful movement usually takes a few months of consistent work. It depends heavily on how competitive your area is.

Do I need a website for local SEO?

You can show up on Google Maps without one, but a good website with real service pages gives Google much more to work with and gives customers a reason to call you instead of the shop next door.

Can you help if my Google profile is suspended or has the wrong info?

Yes. We can help correct profile information and walk through Google's reinstatement process. Approval is ultimately Google's decision.

Do you work with body shops and mechanics?

Both. Collision shops and general repair shops get different service pages, categories and keywords because customers search for them differently.

Will I have to do a lot of work?

No. We may need photos, a quick call to confirm services and hours, and occasional approval on posts. We handle the rest.
